Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru takes on remuneration responsibilities

From 1 April 2025, the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru took over responsibility for remuneration of certain roles in Wales.

These functions were previously carried out by the Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales.

The change is as a result of the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru etc. Act 2013, as amended by the Elections and Elected Bodies (Wales) Act 2024.

The Panel’s final set of determinations was published on 24 February 2025, and the Commission will publish its first set of annual determinations by spring 2026.
